ABUJA FCT – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday said that its attention has been drawn to an allegation of wrong figures entered into polling unit result sheets in the ongoing Edo State Governorship election.

Disclosing this in a statement released on the official X account of INEC, the electoral body assured that it will immediately investigate the matter and deal with any proven infraction.

The statement reads in full:

The Commission’s attention has been drawn to an allegation of wrong figures entered into polling unit result sheets in the ongoing Edo State Governorship election.

This is the second complaint we have received out of the 4,519 polling units used for the election.

The Commission will immediately investigate the matter and deal with any proven infraction.

Precise Post recalls that the former minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, had also reacted to the entering of wrong figure into polling unit result sheet by an Agent identified as Obozuwa Josephine who accredited 213 voters out of 493 registered voters  but recorded 406 votes in Osholo primary school in Weppa ward of Etsako East. Stressing that it will be strange if the Collation officer accepts this result and @inecnigeria accepts it.

At 406 voters of 493, registered is 82% voter turnout.
