ABUJA – The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has appealed to political appointees to carry along other loyal All Progressives Congress (APC) support group members in order to distribute patronage and support one another.
The Director-General of TSG, Dr Umar Yakasai, made the appeal in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.He stated that not all members would get political appointments because of the limited number of positions available in government.Yakasai, however, said that the founded of the group, Mr James Faleke, had ensured that many members of the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and other support group members were recognised and rewarded by President Bola Tinubu.This, he said, was through appointments into various federal government positions across ministries, departments and agencies, adding that the gesture still continued.“One thing that all of us must remember is that we all cannot be appointed because of the limited number of appointive positions available in government.“Few of us that got appointed should do everything humanly possible to carry as many members of support groups as they can along, to distribute patronage and support to one another,” he said.Yakasai said that TSG had earlier organised a free Ramadan feeding programme and inter-faith breaking of fast for both Muslims and Christians.He said that the programme brought together support group leaders, Muslim and Christian faithful, party leaders at all levels, government appointees as well as women and youth leaders.The TSG director-general appreciated Faleke for supporting TSG since the commencement of the 2026 Ramadan with daily free Iftar distribution of food and drinks to Nigerians observing Ramadan and Lent across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).“This benevolent gesture has helped many people who could not afford food to break their fast with dignity and honour. May Allah bless him and reward him abundantly,” he said.Yakasai urged Nigerians to rally support for the Tinubu-led administration and shun all forms of tribalism and religious bias.(NAN)
