ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Chadash Empowerment Foundation continued its charitable mission on January 11, 2025, by hosting an uplifting outreach event in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), benefiting over 100 widows. The foundation, renowned for its focus on vulnerable communities, distributed 25kg bags of rice and ₦10,000 cash gifts to widows from various FCT neighborhoods, reinforcing its commitment to empowering marginalized groups.
The event, held at the foundation’s headquarters in Asokoro, attracted a crowd of widows who gathered early to receive not only material aid but also a message of hope and solidarity. By 10 a.m., the venue was alive with excitement and gratitude, setting the stage for a day of compassion and community support.
Mrs. Cynthia Abiodun Adekunle, the event’s guest speaker, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the foundation’s efforts. “Today is about more than rice and money. It’s about restoring hope, reaffirming dignity, and reminding each one of you that you are not alone,” she said, urging the crowd to come together to create a community where no one is left behind.
The atmosphere was further charged with uplifting songs and motivational speeches, as several widows shared inspiring stories of overcoming adversity. The emotional high point of the day came as each widow received their gift, with many expressing deep appreciation for the support.
Mrs. Alex Mercy, a widow who attended the event, shared how the donations would have a lasting impact on her life. “Since my husband passed, it’s been tough taking care of my children. Today, I feel loved. The rice will feed my family, and the money will help me start a small business,” she said, visibly moved by the generosity shown to her.
The foundation’s team ensured the distribution process was smooth and respectful, creating a warm environment where each widow felt valued. Mrs. Cynthia stressed the broader importance of collaborative efforts to tackle societal inequalities, emphasizing that widows, often overlooked, face unique challenges that can be alleviated through collective action.
