ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Minister of Aviation and illustrious son of Obosi, Osita Chidoka, has congratulated Igwe AC Iweka, on his appointment as Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Council.
In a message of commendation released on his X account handle on Saturday shortly after the appointment, Chidoka expressed his admiration for Igwe Iweka’s new role, noting the immense responsibility that comes with it.
Chidoka acknowledged the significant task ahead of Igwe Iweka, who takes over from the respected Obi Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha. “You are taking over from a respected traditional ruler, Obi Nnaemeka Achebe. The big shoes require you to continue surpassing his exemplary conduct and widely acknowledged leadership,” Chidoka said, extending his congratulations to the Igwe, who is also the Igwe of Obosi and popularly known as Igwe Ogalagidi.
The former aviation minister emphasized the timing of Igwe Iweka’s appointment, stressing that his leadership comes at a crucial juncture for the state. Chidoka noted that the people of Anambra need a fundamental reorientation of values and a return to the ethical foundation laid by their ancestors.
“The state has expressed confidence in you and the Obosi community, a community with an enviable history of education and evangelism,” Chidoka remarked, expressing his full support and that of the Obosi people for the Igwe.
In his message, Chidoka underscored that the new Anambra should be defined by values such as “Uche, Uchu na Egwuchukwu”—wisdom, righteousness, and justice—rather than just infrastructure development. He reiterated his endorsement of Governor Charles Soludo’s vision for a “liveable and prosperous homeland,” one built on moral renewal, and tasked Igwe Iweka with spreading these ideals across the state.
As the new Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Council, Igwe Iweka is poised to guide the state through a critical period, with Chidoka and the people of Obosi standing firmly behind him.
