Chidoka, who previously admired Makinde’s tenacity in overcoming electoral challenges, expressed admiration for the Governor’s performance despite political differences. “Completing a half marathon in freezing cold conditions is no small feat and cements my respect for him,” Chidoka said when he took to his X account on Friday.

While many have lauded Makinde’s governance of Oyo State, Chidoka’s post also called for an ambitious initiative: the establishment of an Ibadan Half Marathon and a Fela Anikulapo Kuti Concert Hall. “Every successful city has a marathon and a concert hall,” he noted, suggesting that such projects would be key cultural and infrastructural milestones for Ibadan.
