ILORIN- Pastor Afolabi Ezekiel of Zion Church, Ilorin, has cautioned the public against ethnic and religious discrimination, but embrace peace and tolerance.
Ezekiel, who gave the warning in Ilorin on Saturday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said ethnic and religious discrimination would affect the country’s prosperity.
According to him, most people are fond of putting religious and ethnic sentiments first before taking decisions.
He said that “in Nigeria, many people allow too much religious sentiments to dictate who to help or not.
“This is the time to wake up and accept everyone as they are. Accept everyone like family. Be tolerant and love one another, irrespective of religious or ethnic background.”
The cleric called on religious leaders to focus on tolerance rather than be in competition with one another.
He also urged them to lead by example and stop preaching hate for the country to move forward.( NAN)
