COAS inaugurates accommodation project, reiterates commitment to troops welfare

LAGOS – The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede has inaugurated two blocks of standard accommodation for junior officers, as well as Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) at Dodan Barracks, Obalende, Lagos.

Oluyede was represented at the event by the General Officer Commanding, 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Farouk Mijinyawa.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Division’s spokesperson, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya on Thursday .

The COAS said that the significant milestone underscored Nigerian Army’s unwavering dedication to enhancing the welfare and living standards of its personnel.

“The Nigerian Army is committed to prioritising the welfare and morale of its personnel,” he said.

Oluyede said that conducive living conditions is essential to operational efficiency and readiness could not be overemphasised therefore, his leadership prioritised the genuine well being of personnel.

The army Chief congratulated the beneficiaries and charged them to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities. (NAN)
