Don’t Blame Tinubu for Insecurity, Kaduna Governor Tells Northern Leaders

by Editor

KADUNA (PRECISE POST)  –   Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has urged Northern leaders to stop blaming President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the persistent insecurity in the region, warning that such narratives are misleading and unproductive.

Speaking at an interactive session held Tuesday at Arewa House in Kaduna, Governor Sani stressed that the security crisis in Northern Nigeria predates the current administration and is rooted in decades of systemic neglect.

“Our problems did not begin two years ago. They are decades old. It is not honest to put the burden entirely on President Tinubu,” he said.

He emphasized that insecurity in the region cannot be addressed solely through military efforts, pointing instead to deep-rooted socio-economic issues such as poverty, illiteracy, and marginalization.

“Insecurity is not just a failure of arms. It is the result of years of policy neglect, economic exclusion, and weak governance structures,” Sani noted.

The governor also called on Northern elites to move beyond political rhetoric and actively engage in efforts aimed at fostering peace, inclusion, and development.

“Security is everyone’s responsibility. No president or governor can succeed in isolation. We must all take ownership of the North’s future,” he added.

Precise Post recalls that Governor Sani’s remarks come at a time when the region continues to grapple with banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of violence, amid growing public frustration.
