ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has directed security agencies to launch a full-scale offensive against bandits terrorising communities in Tsanyawa and Shanono Local Government Areas of Kano State.
Senator Barau made the call while reacting to Saturday night’s attack on Yankamaye village in Tsanyawa LGA, where bandits reportedly killed a woman and abducted three residents during a midnight raid.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, the Deputy Senate President condemned the repeated incursions, describing them as unacceptable and a threat to the peace of the affected communities.
He noted that the latest assault came barely days after a similar attack in Biresawa village, also in Tsanyawa LGA, stressing that security agencies must intensify operations and “take the fight to the criminals.”
“I call on our security agencies, who have engaged these criminals many times in this axis, to double their efforts to rescue the abducted victims and eliminate the threat. They must take the fight to them,” he said.
Senator Barau vowed that no criminal fleeing military operations in neighbouring states would be allowed to destabilise Kano communities, insisting that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority.
“This incursion into our area must stop forthwith. No stone will be left unturned in restoring safety and stability to our communities,” he stated.
