Edo House of Assembly Under Siege by Police as APC, Oshiomhole Move to Seize Control

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Dozens of the security officials have laid siege in the Edo State House of Assembly complex this Thursday morning, August 6 apparently take over control forcefully , according a Channels Television report.

It was gathered that patrol vehicles were stationed in and around the premises.

“The officers were led to the Assembly by a Deputy Commissioner of (Operations), Ayoola Ajala,” the report said.

The news broke as News Express was trying to confirm information that the federal-ruling All Progressives Congress () and its former National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, have mobilised from Abuja, the nation’s capital, to replace the officers from the Edo State Command stationed at the Anthony Enahoro complex of the Edo State House of Assembly.

Recalls that the Deputy Speaker who pledged support for the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in the September election coming up in the state was yesterday impeached and a new Deputy Speaker sworn-in.

The INEC Chairman yesterday expressed worry over the threat from the two major contending parties in Edo state ahead of the forthcoming election in the state.
