Wealth creation is one major avenue any right thinking government will champion in its vision for economic development and growth.
The strength of every nation’s economy is to have multifaceted and multidimensional players in the key areas of economic polarization and industrialization of its major potentials and resources.
Nigeria, the most populous black nation has not been able to tap into the vast wealth of its resources and potentials in various facets of the country’s economy in exploring the untapped natural resources both in human and minerals.
Crude oil is a major controller of the country’s economy and the monopolist to a larger percentage of the country’s GDP remains to be the center for resource control.
Many factors is attributed to be the reasons for this mono-concentrate of the crude oil as the major player to the country’s GDP,and one of such is the educational system of the nation. A system that discredit wealth creation and exploration of potentials.
Until we begin to think education with industrial mindset in making the system for wealth creation through potential discoveries and building on them we will continue to remain undermined in the economic path of growth and development.
These are highlights of some of the ideologies and views of Senator Rochas Okoracha, the Lawmaker Imo West APC, in his concept on what our education system should be.
A system more industrialization-oriented and wealth creation centered, he believes that education is beyond speaking English language which was a copied style of communication from our colonial principals.
Rochas Okorocha the philanthropist and politician has been actively involved in the free education of every less privileged Nigerian child for over 25years through his Foundation called the Rochas Foundation having more than 15 schools spread across the six geo-political zones in the country, providing free education from primary to tertiary levels with the recent school set up in Cross River State that will soon be opening in September this year.
While governor for eight years in Imo state, he provided free education for school children in the state from primary to secondary levels proving that education can be better improved in the country if leaders will think patriotic in their approach of governance.
