EFCC Arraigns Chris Ngige Over Contract Fraud

by Administrator

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday arraigned Chris Ngige, former Minister of Labour and Productivity, over allegations of contract fraud and gratification.

Ngige, a former governor of Anambra State, faced an eight-count charge before a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gwarimpa. He pleaded not guilty to all charges upon arraignment.

According to the EFCC charge dated October 31, Ngige allegedly used his positions to grant undue advantage by awarding multiple contracts to associates and companies linked to him.

On December 11, Ngige’s media aide, Fred Chukwuelobe, confirmed that the ex-governor was in EFCC custody, following circulating rumors that he had been kidnapped.
