The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing the alignment between fiscal and monetary policies as a strategic step toward stimulating economic growth.
This commitment was conveyed during a working visit to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Monday, according to a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Manga.
Edun noted that the renewed focus follows the recent decline in Nigeria’s inflation rate, which eased to 22.97 percent in May. He emphasized that discussions with the CBN Governor, Mr. Yemi Cardoso, centered on sustaining this progress by stabilizing prices, bolstering investor confidence, and promoting private sector-driven growth.
The Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to a collaborative approach in managing the economy, underscoring its commitment to achieving sustainable economic growth and development.
