ABUJA FCT – The federal government through the ministries of Agriculture and Food Security as well as the Capital Territory on Thursday flagged off intervention aimed at addressing the ongoing food crisis in Nigeria.
This includes the selling of subsidized milled rice, a critical measure to ensure that affordable, quality food reaches the citizens during these challenging times.
The minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari who disclosed this on his official X account, highlighted that the intervention underscores federal government’s commitment to mitigating the impact of the food crisis, and ensuring that every Nigerian has access to staple food products.
In his words, Senator Kyari said:
“I am pleased to announce that the Honourable Minister of State of the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmud @drmmariya joined us today for the official flag-off of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s intervention to address the ongoing food crisis. We have initiated the sales of subsidized milled rice, a critical measure to ensure that affordable, quality food reaches our citizens during these challenging times.”
