Flood: FG Receives 50 Tons of Humanitarian Aid from UAE

ABUJA FCT – The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) Mrs Zubaida Umar on Monday received 50 tons of humanitarian aid from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to support those affected by recent floods across the country.

According to the statement released by the NEMA DG on his X account, the relief materials, delivered at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, were handed over by UAE Ambassador, Salem Alshamsi.

The DG who extended the federal government’s gratitute to the UAE Embasy, assured that the aid will be promptly distributed to flood-affected areas to help alleviate the suffering of the impacted communities across the country.

The statement reads in full:

On behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, we received 50 tons of humanitarian aid from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to support those affected by recent floods across the country. The relief materials, delivered to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, were handed over by UAE Ambassador, Salem Alshamsi.

We are grateful to the @UAEEmbassyNGR for their kind gesture and commitment to assisting victims of disasters in Nigeria.

The aid will be promptly distributed to flood-affected areas to help alleviate the suffering of the impacted communities across the country.
