ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former River State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh has expressed gratitude to Siminalayi Fubara following the dissolution of the State Executive Council in Rivers State, describing her time in office as a privilege and an opportunity to deliver meaningful health reforms.
In a statement released on her X handle after the announcement by the Rivers State Government on Friday, Oreh thanked Governor Fubara for the confidence reposed in her during her tenure as Commissioner for Health. She said the role allowed her to contribute to the administration’s broader goal of improving lives and strengthening healthcare delivery across the state.
Reflecting on her time in office, Oreh highlighted major strides made in primary healthcare development, maternal and child health services, expanded access to quality care, and improved accountability within the health sector.
She noted that the progress achieved was the result of collective effort, driven by health workers, development partners, and community support, which helped position Rivers State more prominently in national and global health conversations.
The former commissioner also commended ministry officials, including permanent secretaries, directors, medical officers, and frontline health professionals, for their dedication and commitment.
She credited their efforts with helping to strengthen health systems and improve outcomes for women, children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
Oreh said she was stepping aside in compliance with the governor’s directive but expressed confidence that health professionals in the state would sustain ongoing reforms.
She reaffirmed her continued commitment to supporting stronger health systems, equitable access to care, and policy innovation wherever opportunities arise.
She concluded by thanking residents across both riverine and upland communities for their trust and engagement, describing healthcare workers as the “heartbeat” of the system and pledging to remain committed to public service and health development in Rivers State.
