ADDRESS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AS SPECIAL GUEST OF HONOUR AT THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE TWELFTH
NIGERIAN NAVY GAMES 2022 AND COMMISSIONING OF THE NIGERIAN NAVY SPORTS COMPLEX IN LAGOS ON 8TH SEPTEMBER 2022.
It is a great pleasure for me to be here today on the occasion of the opening ceremonies of #NigerianNavyGames2022, another landmark event for the Nigerian Navy. This occasion equally doubles as the commissioning ceremony of this newly-constructed #NigerianNavy Sports Complex.
Over the years, sports have remained a tool to strengthen the ties between troops, instilling discipline and readiness to serve a common cause in the military. I am sure that these Games will create the forum for the Nigerian Navy to achieve these objectives and more.
Let me thank the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral AZ Gambo, the officers & ratings of the Nigerian Navy for inviting me to this unique occasion as the Special Guest of Honour. This occasion also showcases the investment undertaken by the Nigerian Navy in sports development.
