Gbaja Visits NEMA, Receives Briefing on Agency’s Disaster Preparedness and Prevention – DG

ABUJA FCT – Director General of the the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Zubaida Umar has hinted that the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila who was on inspection visit to the Agency on Wednesday, was brought up to speed on the agency’s mandates and strides, including disaster preparedness and prevention, sensitization and awareness, search and rescue operations, disaster assessment and response, relief and rehabilitation, and other disaster mitigation initiatives.

Umar who stated this in a statement released on her X account, said that Gbajabiamila witnessed first-hand the diligent operations of NEMA’s 24/7 National Emergency Operation Centre, command’s centre for resource management of disasters.

According to the statement, NEMA pledged to remain steadfast in achieving the objectives of our agency, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

In his remarks, Gbajabiamila commended the Agency for the good job they are doing.

The COS, @femigbaja, during the visit, witnessed first-hand the diligent operations of NEMA’s 24/7 National Emergency Operation Centre, our command centre for resource management of disasters.

The delegation, including the Deputy Chief of Staff, was brought up to speed on the agency’s mandates and strides, including disaster preparedness and prevention, sensitization and awareness, search and rescue operations, disaster assessment and response, relief and rehabilitation, and other disaster mitigation initiatives.

Receiving the commendation of the Chief of Staff, we pledged to remain steadfast in achieving the objectives of our agency, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
