From Puff-Puff to Power: Gov Adeleke Appoints Street Vendor as Government House Chef

by Joy: News Admin

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has once again proven why he is called the dancing governor with a big heart. In a heartwarming twist, a street puff-puff seller, Oluwatosin Adejumo, has gone from frying snacks on the roadside to cooking inside the Osun State Government House kitchen.

How It All Started

During a political rally in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke spotted Oluwatosin hustling with her tray of puff-puff. Instead of just buying a few pieces, the governor shocked everyone by purchasing her entire tray for ₦50,000.

But Adeleke didn’t stop there — right on the spot, he promised her a better future. Fast forward to today, and he has kept that promise by officially appointing her as a Government House chef.

Adeleke’s Promise Fulfilled

Sharing the good news on his official handle, Adeleke wrote:

“A few days ago, I met Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo during the rally where labour unions and other groups declared their support for my re-election. Today, I have kept that promise by officially presenting her appointment letter as one of our Government House chefs.

Beyond this, I have also approved a scholarship for her up to the Master’s level, should she wish to further her education.”

Who Is Oluwatosin Adejumo?

The newly appointed chef isn’t just an ordinary puff-puff vendor. Oluwatosin holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and has formal catering training. Her story went viral after a video captured Adeleke’s generous moment of buying her entire tray of snacks.

Now, from frying puff-puff on the streets of Osogbo, she will be serving meals at the heart of government power.

Adeleke Also Revives Farmers’ House

In another big win for Osun State, Governor Adeleke also announced the reopening of the long-abandoned Osun Farmers’ House in Osogbo — a project that had been neglected for years.

“This milestone shows how serious we are about meeting the needs of our farmers while driving transformation in every sector of our state,” he said.

From puff-puff to power, Oluwatosin’s story is proof that destiny can change in one moment. With Adeleke’s support, she’s gone from frying snacks on the roadside to becoming a chef at Osun Government House.

Her journey has sparked hope for many Nigerians that dreams really do come true.
