ENUGU (PRECISE POST) – Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has praised Afia TV and Afia Radio FM for their outstanding contribution to the state’s media landscape, creative industry, and economic development.
Governor Mbah, who announced this when he took to his X handle on Saturday (today), made the remarks on Thursday during a courtesy visit by Chief Emeka Mba, Managing Director of Afia TV, and his management team to the Government House.
Describing Afia as a rising force in the South-East’s media sector, Governor Mbah commended the organisation for telling the region’s stories, promoting local culture, and projecting Enugu’s governance and economic narratives to wider audiences across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.
“In just two years, Afia TV and Afia Radio have distinguished themselves as authentic voices of the South-East. From their trilingual programming to nurturing homegrown media talent, Afia has become a hub for creativity, innovation, and community connection,” the Governor said.
He noted that Afia’s success aligns with his administration’s vision of Enugu as a fertile ground for private enterprise and investment, particularly in the creative economy.
“Their growing impact reflects what we believe in — Enugu as a place where private enterprise thrives. Afia is proof that with the right environment, the private sector can shape development, tourism, and leisure in our state,” Mbah added.
Governor Mbah also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and identified Afia TV and Radio as strategic partners in promoting civic engagement and communicating government initiatives.
He therefore commended Chief Emeka Mba and his team for their vision and resilience. Adding that together, we are shaping an Enugu that is not just a destination for commerce, but also a hub for ideas, stories, innovation, and experiences.
