Gunmen Kill Three, Abduct Six In Taraba

Suspected Boko-haram members on Sunday afternoon attacked Jouro Manu town in Gassol local government area of Taraba state killing three people while six others kidnapped.

Spokesperson of the Taraba state police command Gambo Bajabu Kwache confirmed the incident and said police were already on top of situation to track down the attackers.

A resident, Mallam Saidu Usman told our correspondent that the attackers came on 9 vectra and Bajaj motorcycle and stated shooting sporadically.

“They came in the afternoon with two people each on a motorcycle and stated shooting at all over the place, killing three people on the spot and they abducted six others to unknown destination”.

Out correspondent recall that the immediate past chairman of Gassol local government, Mr Musa Abdullahi Chul had earlier raised the alarm that Boko-haram terrorists were regrouping in a forest in the local government, shortly before they detonated an Improvised Explosive Device at a Catholic Church in the area and subsequently at a cattle market and military base in Jalingo.
