The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially declared Abdullahi Bashir Haske, a prominent businessman and son-in-law of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, wanted over alleged involvement in money laundering and criminal conspiracy.
The announcement was made by Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, in a public notice appealing to Nigerians for credible information on Haske’s whereabouts.
According to the EFCC, the 38-year-old was last seen at two known addresses in Lagos: 6 Mosley Road, Ikoyi, and 952/953 Idejo Street, Victoria Island.
Anyone with useful information is urged to report to the nearest police station or EFCC office, or reach out via the commission’s verified social media platforms, the agency stated.
EFCC also released Haske’s photograph and shared contact details of its offices across major cities including Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu, Uyo, Maiduguri, and others.
Background: Business, Politics, and Allegations
Haske is the founder and Group Managing Director of AA&R Investment Group, a firm reportedly involved in energy, agriculture, logistics, and ICT. He is married to one of Atiku Abubakar’s daughters.
Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Bayo Ojulari, Chairman of NNPC Limited, was under investigation for allegedly transferring millions of dollars into AA&R’s accounts. The EFCC is now reportedly looking into whether these funds were linked to political campaign financing.
Sources cited by The Cable claim the Presidency suspects that business ties between NNPC and Haske’s company could be part of a broader strategy to fund Atiku’s possible 2027 presidential campaign—a theory that has fueled speculation of politically motivated investigations.
