Abuja (Precise Post) – Dr Goodluck Jonathan-led Ecowas_Cedeao Mediation Team has returned to Bamako today to support the visit of the Ghanaian President and Chair of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, His Excellency Nana Akuffo-Ado’s visit to Mali.

Jonathan who disclosed this via his facebook page, expressed delight that the newly constituted Government of His Excellency President Bah N’daw is making progress because the good people of Mali have chosen the path of peace.

Precise Post recalls that on September 25th 2020, His Excellency Mr. Bah N’daw and Colonel Assimi Goita were sworn in as President and Vice President of Mali’s Transition Government.

The ECOWAS Heads of Government has given the Malian transition government 18-month long task of restoring normalcy, stabilising the country, uniting the people and overseeing the process that will produce the next democratically elected president of Mali.

Colonel Assimi Goita-led junta had removed the former civilian President in a bloodless coup and detained him for days before ECOWAS gave the military leader to unconditionally release the former president.

The ECOWAS gave the Malian military leader ultimatum to, including but not limited to organising election within one year and to appoint a civilian to head the transition government that would organise election that will usher in a democratically elected civilian government.
