KANO – The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has donated metal chairs and standing fans to the Hajj terminal at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj operations.
The Director General of the board, Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle who spoke during the donation said it is aim to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders and ensure smooth and successful Hajj exercise for pilgrims from Kano State.
This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Sulaiman Dederi on Wednesday in Kano.
According to the statement, the board will continue to provide maximum cooperation and support to airport authorities in order to achieve set objectives for this year’s pilgrimage.
Earlier, the Regional General Manager of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) , Musa Okikiri, expressed appreciation for the contribution.
He assured that necessary arrangements will be put in place to support pilgrims throughout the Hajj operations.
Okikiri said that the chairs will be installed at the Hajj Terminal waiting area to improve passenger comfort prior to boarding procedures.
He reassure prospective pilgrims that enhance operational measures has been introduced, noting that pilgrims are expected to spend no more than one hour at reception area before departure.(NAN)
