Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has addressed the public after surviving a minor road accident on Sunday evening along the Daura–Katsina highway.
According to reports, the incident occurred while Governor Radda was returning from Daura. Initial reports suggested he sustained a fracture and was under medical care.
However, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, has confirmed to Vanguard that Governor Radda is in good health, high spirits, and has since resumed his official duties.
“The Governor was briefly placed under medical observation purely as a precaution. He is now back to work and doing well,” Mohammed stated.
Governor Radda Thanks Supporters After Accident
In a short live video message from his residence on Sunday, Governor Radda expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Katsina State and Nigerians nationwide for their prayers and concern.
“Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Dear brothers and sisters of Katsina State and beyond, we are deeply grateful for all your prayers and concern. By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident—but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed,” he said.
Former Presidential Aide Confirms Governor’s Safety
Former media aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, also shared updates about the Governor’s wellbeing, citing information from the Katsina Local Government Area chairman.
The quick response from Governor Radda’s team and the reassuring updates have helped calm concerns across the state.
