JALINGO NIGERIA – The immediate past Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly Professor Joseph Albasu Kunini and the State Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Dr Aminu Hassan Jauro have condoles the state Governor Agbu Kefas and family over the loss of his sister Asti Kefas.

In a message signed by himself, Kunini described the death as terrible tragedy and called on the family to be consoled that, though she lived a very short life, testimonies of her good legacies abound.

“I received with a very heavy heart the tragic death of our dear sister Miss Asti Kefas, younger sister of the State Governor Agbu Kefas. I must admit that this is very devastating, not just for the family and friends of the deceased, but the state as a whole.

“While we mourn like those who have hope in the resurrection, we are consoled that her days on earth are a testament of great legacy. I sincerely condole with the governor and his family as well as all those who were related to her one way or the other” Kunini said.

Similarly, Dr Hassan said the death of Miss Asti Kefas is most unfortunate while the circumstances surrounding it show that despite huge efforts by the State governor to tackle insecurity, the challenge is still not surmounted yet.

“Let me say that the death of Miss Asti Kefas at this very young age is most unfortunate. It is heartbreaking. She lived a very humble life, treating all people without discrimination. It is sad that just when she is needed the most, the cold hands of death snatched her under such tragic consequences.

“Violence and crime has never been a solution. Our amiable governor is doing everything to maintain peace, law and order. He is making the environment suitable for people to thrive. The least we can do as a people of the State is to key into these great programme and earn a decent living rather than indulging in crime.

“As I and the entire ALGON in Taraba as well as the good people of Taraba condole with His Excellent our governor and his family, we continue to pray that God will grant her enter rest in peace”.

Our Correspondent reports that Asti died of gunshot injury she sustained while on transit with the Governor’s mother.
