ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Bayelsa State Governor and National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, has commended the party’s running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for his efforts in strengthening the party across the 19 northern states.
Dickson made the commendation in a statement posted on his X handle on Thursday after hosting Kwankwaso and a delegation comprising governorship candidates, National Assembly candidates and other NDC stakeholders from the northern states.
He said the party had entrusted Kwankwaso with the responsibility of leading its party-building efforts across the 19 northern states and described his performance within the available timeframe as “excellent.”
According to Dickson, Kwankwaso led the delegation to brief him on the team’s engagements, consultations and progress across the region.
He expressed appreciation to the former Kano State governor for deploying his experience, capacity and extensive political network to the assignment, saying he had lived up to the expectations of the party.
“I thanked Alhaji Kwankwaso for the experience, capacity and extensive network he has deployed to this important assignment. He has lived up to the very high expectations we have of him, and the party is grateful for his service,” Dickson said.
The former governor also commended the leaders and candidates for their cooperation, support and commitment to the party-building process.
Dickson said that over the past nine months, he had remained fully engaged in building the party, holding meetings with stakeholders across the states, encouraging members and working with state leaders.
He noted that the demanding assignment had prevented him from visiting his home state or attending to personal activities, expressing gratitude to God for giving him the health and strength to continue serving the party.
Dickson particularly praised Kwankwaso for devoting the past two weeks to resolving several issues that would otherwise have required his personal attention.
He said Kwankwaso’s intervention had been valuable and that the party would act on the recommendations arising from his engagements with stakeholders.
“With the cooperation of our aspirants, candidates, leaders and members, we have built a sustainable political party,” he said.
Dickson also appreciated members of the National Working Committee for their support, while asking them to extend his regards to those who were unable to attend the meeting.
He said he looked forward to joining the party’s candidates and leaders on the campaign trail to take what he described as the message of a “New Nigeria” to every part of the country.
“By the grace of God, victory will be ours,” Dickson declared.
