ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – It was a game to behold on Saturday, August 23, as Likeminds FC Abuja welcomed Likeminds FC Nsukka in a friendly encounter that saw the visitors overcoming their hosts by a 2-1 win.
The game played at Likeminds FC’s Arena, Utako Abuja was organized by Honorable Chidi Mark Obetta representing Nsukka/Igboeze South Federal Constituency, Enugu State in the 10th House of Representatives.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the game, Hon Obetta expressed joy over the injury free game, though he was happy Likeminds Nsukka won the game but, added that the reason for the friendly was to foster peace and unity between his constituents and the Likeminds FC, Abuja. Stressing that Likeminds FC Abuja is a cosmopolitant club where every tribes in Nigeria are represented unlike their counters in Nsukka, therefore, the need to make new friends, business partners for a more united Nigeria.
“It was a very interesting game, from the beginning to the end and there was no injury. The aim of the friendly was to encourage and enrich our cultural heritage, and interraction. Here you have a mix-culture of people from different backgrounds. So, the outing is good for my constituents. They are making new friends here and business and political associates, in fact its beyound a friendly match.” Obetta insists.
The President of Likeminds FC Abuja, Mr Onwa Nwafor-Orizu on his part expressed joy over the sucessful game, stressing that the reaaon for the friendly match was met as both clubs are making new friends and business and political associates.
On the scoreline of 2-1 in fovour of the visiting team, he said that, it was out of the magnanimity of his members to allow their visitors caried the day.
Meanwhile his counterpart from Nsukka, Hon Dr. Cosmos Agbo was happy with the outcome of the game, adding that his men lived up to expectations.
Dr. Agbo thanked the convener of the friendly match, Hon. Obetta, saying that the match has offered them the opportunity to make new friends and strengthened the bond between Nsukka Likeminds FC and its counterparts in the FCT.
“I am a happy man today, despites the challenges we face while coming, we were able to take charge of the game as you can see in the 2-1 scoreline in our favour. Our joy is not just the game but the convivianity, the bond and unity that exist between the two clubs. And I want to thank Hon Chidi Obetta for this outing, we always know that he can do anything for his constituents–breaking new grounds in all ramifications. This experience is huge and we pray God gives him more grace.”
