Lyta threatens to quit music over low streams, cries out for help

ABUJA- Nigerian Afrobeat artiste Babatunde Rahim, popularly known as Lyta, has issued a warning that he may quit releasing new music if fans continue to neglect streaming his songs.

The former YBNL signee made the statement during a recent live session shared on X on Tuesday, where he openly expressed his disappointment over the lack of support from listeners, which he said has left him struggling financially.

“I can do more good music. But if you don’t stream my music, I won’t drop another one. I’m in need of money,” Lyta said.

Highlighting the toll his situation has taken on his physical appearance, he added, “Look at how I’m looking [slim]. I want to gain weight. Let me enjoy your money a little. If you stream my music, I will add weight.”

Lyta rose to fame in 2018 under YBNL Nation, the label owned by rap star Olamide. However, their relationship soured, leading to his exit from the label in May 2019.

In previous interviews, Lyta made emotional appeals for a second chance with YBNL, publicly asking Olamide to take him back, but his request was turned down by the label boss.
