ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –  Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has called on European investors and the wider international investment community to explore the vast investment opportunities in the state.

Mutfwang made the call on Thursday on his X handle when he received the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, during their visit to Plateau State.

The governor said the engagement provided an opportunity to reaffirm his administration’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships based on mutual benefit, investment, innovation and sustainable development.

He identified agriculture, livestock and dairy production, renewable energy, education and tourism as areas with significant investment potential in the state.

According to him, his administration is working to transform Plateau’s comparative advantages into productive investments capable of creating jobs, strengthening local industries and improving the livelihoods of residents.

Mutfwang said agriculture remained central to the state’s economic development strategy, noting that Plateau had significant potential in the production and processing of indigenous crops such as acha, as well as livestock and dairy products.

He added that the state was committed to modernising livestock management through technology, expertise and strategic partnerships to boost production and market access.

On renewable energy, the governor appreciated the European Union’s collaboration in exploring sustainable energy solutions for health institutions across the state.

He also expressed optimism over the actualisation of the proposed five-megawatt hydropower project at Assop Falls, saying it would support efforts to expand access to reliable and sustainable electricity.

Mutfwang urged European partners to look beyond Nigeria’s traditional commercial centres and consider the investment opportunities available in Plateau State.
“Our administration will continue to create an enabling environment for credible investors and partnerships that bring technology, capital and expertise while delivering lasting value to our people,” he said.

He assured prospective investors that Plateau was open to international partnerships capable of translating its abundant resources into shared prosperity.
