NAF Leads Multi-Agency Search, Recovery Operation for Crashed NAF 931 in Igbokoda

ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said it is continuing to lead and coordinate search and recovery operations following the crash involving its ATR 42 aircraft, NAF 931, in Igbokoda, Ondo State.

The NAF, in a statement issued on Wednesday through its official X handle, said the operation was being conducted under the direction of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.

The Service said its personnel had remained committed to the operation, while commending the professionalism and dedication demonstrated by personnel involved in the search and recovery efforts.

It also acknowledged the support of several agencies and organisations participating in the operation, including the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police Force, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ondo State Government, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun Corps, Hi-Tech Construction Company, local authorities, community leaders and volunteers.

According to the NAF, the coordinated involvement of the various stakeholders has been invaluable to the ongoing operation.

“The NAF remains committed to pursuing the operation diligently and safely, in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders,” the Service said.

The Air Force also expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their solidarity, prayers and continued support as the search and recovery efforts continue.

Recall that the ATR 42 aircraft, NAF 931 reportedly crashed on Monday in Ondo State shortly  after it took off.
