LAFIA – Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Wednesday in Lafia commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for increasing stipend for vulnerable citizens from N7,000 to N10, 000 in the state.
Dr Hajarat Danyaro, the Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs gave the commendation when the management of the Nasarawa State Social Investment Agency appeared before the committee on its 2025 second quarter budget performance.
Danyaro said that the gesture by the governor would improve the standard of living of vulnerable people in the state.
She said that the committee was overwhelmed with the performance of the agency and urged them to do more in order to improve on the living standard of the target groups.
“Your are doing well for the less privilege ones and I urged you to keep it up,” she said.
Danyaro commended Gov. Sule for having the interest of the vulnerable and less privileged at heart.
She assured the agency of the committee’s support at all times to succeed.
Earlier, Mr Imran Jibrin, the Director-General of the agency appreciated the committee for supporting their activities.
Jibrin assured of the agency’s commitment to initiate more good programmes that would positively impact on the lives of the less privileged.
He, however, appealed for more funds to take care of the increased stipend for the vulnerable from N7, 000 to N10,000. (NAN)
