New CBN Governor Cardoso thanks Tinubu for his appointment

The newly appointed Govermor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Yemi Cardoso has extended gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his appointment into that position.

Precise Post recalls that Senate on Tuesday screened and approved the nomination of Cardoso and four others.

Cardoso who took to his X(formerly Twitter), to express his appreciation said:

“Yesterday, I had the honour of standing before the Senate and being confirmed as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. I would like to thank His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the nomination and the Honourable President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio and all.

Recall The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Dr Olayemi Cardoso as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

Cardoso was screened alongside four nominees for the positions of CBN Deputy Governors, to steer affairs of the apex bank in the next five years.

The deputy governors include: Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala M. Bello.

Further recall that last week, Cardoso resumed as the CBN governor in an acting capacity pending his screening and expected confirmation by the Senate.
