ABUJA – The Special Adviser, Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga
Some Nigerians have taken to their various X accounts to lambast the Special Adviser Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga over his uncomplimentary remarks against the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) concerning the ongoing nationwide strike which started today.
Onanuga who expressed sadness that labour embarked on strike over the minimum wage disagreement with federal government, also went further and singled out NLC and TUC and accused them of bearing ill-will and grudges against the Tinubu administration.
Reacting on his X account to the commencement of the nationwide strike today and the forceful shutting down of flights operation at the airports and electricity installations across the country by labour activists among others, Onanuga said:
“It’s saddening that Labour could go to this extreme. But it is not surprising to the perceptive minds. Labour is harming the Nigerian people they claim to be fighting for.
“Today, many sick Nigerians could not access medical care at government hospitals. Not even those with critical medical conditions. It appears labour is playing politics by other means.
“Many of the affiliates of the two central unions, NLC and TUC are members and supporters of the Labour Party. They logically bear ill-will and grudges against the Tinubu administration.
“What is clear is that the issue they claim to be fighting for cannot be resolved by blackmail or sabotage, they cannot even be resolved by the Federal Government unilaterally. The Labour leaders will still have to return to the negotiating table.”
However, these remarks have kept the social media buzzing as many have lashed out at the former Director, Media and Publicity Tinubu/Shettima Campaign.

It’s extreme that Tinubu could buy a yacht, travel in an over bloated entourage, and award a multi-trillion naira coastal road project to his trusted friend and can’t pay the workers a ‘living’ wage.
Stay in your house if you’re bereft of ideas on how to lead a nation.

The long and short of this problem is for you guys to reduce the cost of governance, cut your over bloated salaries and that of the legislative arm of government and then use that money to solve the issues at hand. N29,000,000 monthly in an economy like ours is unacceptable!
