by Arabella Zikora

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has announced the appointment of Muzammil Dalha Yola as the new Media Manager Representative for the North-West region of Nigeria.

The appointment, confirmed by Olushola Ogunnowo, the NLO’s Chief Operating Officer, is effective this month.

Yola takes over from Abdulgafar Oladimeji, who has held the position since 202

Yola, who also serves as the Assistant Secretary of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kano State Chapter, was officially named to the role in a communication from the NLO Secretariat, which was shared through the league’s media channels.

In his new role, Yola will work directly with Tunde Shamsudeen, the NLO Communication Director, to manage and execute the league’s media strategy.

He will engage with stakeholders, including football clubs and academies in the North-West region, covering Kano and its neighboring states: Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara.

Yola will also be responsible for overseeing the media operations of the Nationwide League One Division 1, the NLO U19 Youth League, and other NLO events in the region, in line with the league’s aim of promoting young talent to a broader audience.

Ogunnowo has encouraged Yola to leverage his experience in this new role, as the league prepares to kick off its 2025 football season in the first quarter of the year.

The NLO also expressed gratitude to Abdulgafar Oladimeji for his contributions over the past two seasons and wished him success in his future endeavors.
