ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Group Chief Executive of Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Bashir Ojulari, has declared that the national oil company recorded steady and measurable progress over the past year, underscoring improvements across key operational and institutional areas.
Speaking on the company’s performance on his X handle on Sunday showing the April 2025 to April 2026 report, Ojulari said the past 12 months have seen tangible gains in crude oil and gas production, financial performance, critical infrastructure development, and internal organisational culture. According to him, these milestones reflect a deliberate effort by the company to reposition itself as a more efficient and results-driven energy enterprise.

He stressed that the progress achieved goes beyond meeting corporate targets, describing it as part of a broader commitment to transparency and accountability to Nigerians. Ojulari noted that as a national energy company, NNPC Limited remains conscious of its responsibility to deliver value to citizens while strengthening the country’s energy security.
“This is not just about figures or milestones,” he said. “It is about demonstrating accountability and ensuring that every step we take aligns with the expectations of the Nigerian people.”
Ojulari further emphasised that the company is focused on long-term sustainability, adding that NNPC Limited is adopting strategies aimed at balancing profitability with environmental responsibility. He highlighted ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency, attract investment, and modernise infrastructure across the energy value chain.
Reaffirming the company’s direction, he stated that NNPC Limited will continue to lead with purpose, positioning itself as a key driver of Nigeria’s economic growth while advancing a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
Precise Post recalls that the remarks come amid broader reforms in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, with stakeholders closely monitoring the company’s performance as it transitions into a fully commercial entity.
