NSCDC Kicks Against Bill Seeking to Establish Nigeria Mines Ranger Service, Gives Reason

ABUJA FCT – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has kicked against the Bill seeking the establishment of the Nigeria Mines Ranger Service (NMRS).

Precise Post recalls that the Bill aims to prevent, combat illegal mining, artisanal mining and other crimes in the mining sector.

Speaking at a one-day public hearing on the Bill on Thursday at the Senate, the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, said the establishment of NMRS is unnecessary duplication of job, emphasizing that the Corps is wholeheartedly against it.
