In a Facebook post on Thursday, the cleric declared, “Chiemeka Chibuzor wedding is hereby suspended. More than a thousand applications. No more wedding, Pending further directive from me HRM King, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinvere”.

The suspension comes just two days after Chinyere announced his intention to find a husband for his adopted daughter — a move he said attracted over 1,000 applications from prospective suitors.

The cleric did not disclose the reason for suspending the plan.

In his earlier announcement, Chinyere had outlined strict criteria for any potential groom, stating that the man must be young, physically and mentally fit. He ruled out elderly individuals or persons with disabilities.

The proposed marriage package included lifetime financial support, a free house for life built in the names of both spouses, and regular unplanned supervision visits by OPM staff to ensure the daughter’s safety and well-being.

”I am giving out another of my adopted daughters in marriage,” he had said.

”The man who wishes to marry her must be a young man. He must be physically and mentally fit on all form.

“Benefits include: Lifetime financial support, Free house for life, A house built in the names of both (couple), Regular unplanned supervision visits by OPM staff to ensure her safety and well-being.

“This arrangement is to ensure that she is properly cared for, protected, and lives a happy life.”

Chinyere had noted that while his daughter exhibits autistic behaviour, she can speak and hear well.

The development comes a few days after the cleric facilitated the marriage of Aboy Chibuzor, the autistic young man who is under his care.

Aboy married a single mother of three from Edo on March 29.
