ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has expressed profound grief over the death of Senator Okey Ezea (Ideke), describing the late lawmaker as a dear friend, colleague, and brother whose passing has left him “personally devastated.”
In an emotional tribute, Kalu said Senator Ezea was more than a fellow legislator, noting that their relationship was rooted in mutual respect, brotherhood, and genuine affection. He recalled their shared Catholic faith and moments of worship together at the Senate chapel, describing those encounters as spiritually significant and memorable.
“Senator Ezea was a man of humility, integrity, and steadfast faith. His devotion to God and his passion for service defined him in every sense,” Kalu said.
The former Senate Chief Whip extended his condolences to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, noting that the Red Chamber had lost a principled and courageous voice whose contributions were marked by clarity and conviction.
Kalu also condoled with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, the people of Enugu, and particularly the Nsukka community, whom he said Ezea served with “pride, dedication, and an unbreakable commitment.”
To the late senator’s family, Kalu prayed for God’s strength and comfort, assuring them that Ezea’s legacy of service, humility, and faith would continue to shine.
“As I mourn my dear brother, I take solace in knowing he lived honorably and touched countless lives. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” he said.
