ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Governor Alex Otti has commissioned 14 newly completed road projects across Osisioma, Aba North, and Aba South Local Government Areas, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to transforming Aba into a major economic hub in Abia State.
The projects commissioned include Aro Amano–Eke Aro Road, Adaelu Road, Geometric Road, Afule Road, Assemblies of God Church Road, Nwogu Ajagba Street, Nwala Street, Sacred Heart Street, Elizabeth Avenue, Nigerian Brewery Ring Road, Etche Road, Mosque Road, Crystal Park Road, and Kingdom Hall Street.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony in Aba, Otti described the projects as part of a broader effort to improve infrastructure, enhance connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and stimulate industrial growth in the commercial city.
The governor recalled the poor condition of Geometric Road in the past, noting that the area has now been transformed into a thriving industrial corridor with growing business opportunities.
He explained that Afule Road was strategically constructed as a bypass to reduce traffic pressure on the busy Aba–Owerri Road, while Adaelu Road reflected the speed and efficiency of his administration’s project delivery teams.
Otti also flagged off the first phase of the Aba Ring Road project, a 4.9-kilometre road being executed under the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA).
According to him, the strategic bypass project is designed to decongest the Aba metropolis, improve access to neighbouring states such as Akwa Ibom and Cross River, and support ongoing urban renewal and economic expansion initiatives.
The governor stated that all the road projects were built with quality infrastructure, including proper drainage systems, street lighting, and durable construction standards.
Reflecting on his administration’s three years in office, Otti said the projects symbolise growth and progress, adding that they would open new pathways to prosperity for residents and businesses in the state.
“Aba is rising, and together we are shaping the future Abia deserves,” he said.
