Oyebanji Receives Certificate of Return, Pledges Greater Development for Ekiti

ADO EKITI  –   Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has officially received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following his re-election in the state’s governorship election.

Speaking after receiving the certificate alongside his deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, Oyebanji described the mandate given to him by Ekiti voters as a solemn responsibility rather than a political achievement.

The governor, who secured a historic 319,224 votes in the election, said the Certificate of Return symbolises a sacred contract with the people to Today, alongside my Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, I officially received our Certificate of Return from INEC.

Backed by your historic 319,224 votes, this certificate is not a political trophy. It is a sacred contract to deepen good governance and accelerate sustainable development across the Land of Honour.

I am immensely grateful to my wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji @YemibOyebanji, our party leaders, and the good people of Ekiti for ensuring one of the most peaceful elections in our history.

Special appreciation goes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his courage in signing the amended Electoral Act into law, which was vital in delivering a transparent, fair, and highly professional process.

This historic victory belongs to every resident of our state. As we return to work immediately to consolidate our achievements in welfare, infrastructure, and economic growth, I extend a hand of fellowship to my fellow contestants to join hands with our administration.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Ekiti for ensuring what he described as one of the most peaceful elections in the state’s history. Oyebanji also thanked his wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, party leaders and supporters for their contributions to the victory.

The governor further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the amended Electoral Act into law, noting that the legislation played a critical role in guaranteeing a transparent, credible and professionally conducted electoral process.

Describing the outcome of the election as a victory for all residents of the state, Oyebanji pledged to immediately resume work aimed at consolidating his administration’s achievements in welfare, infrastructure development and economic growth.

He also extended an olive branch to his opponents in the election, urging them to join hands with his administration in advancing the development of Ekiti State.

According to him, collective efforts and unity of purpose are essential to building a greater future for the state and sustaining the progress already recorded under his administration.
