ABUJA – A world record-seeking youth launderer has invited residents of Abuja to bring their clothes for free ironing as he embarks on a five-day non-stop ironing exercise from next Monday.
This invitation has been thrown open by Zahan Isaac Kuma, more popularly known as Mr. Reliable, whose Ironing Marathon takes off on Monday, 22 April 2024 in an attempt to break the existing Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest ironing endurance by an individual.
The ironing marathon, which is being hosted by Jabi Lake Mall, Abuja, had been approved by GWR as far back as November last year.
Mr. Reliable, who hails from Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State, is a student of the University of Lagos who has been into laundry and garment maintenance for over a decade.
According to him, he took up this great challenge to uplift his skill, which has been his source of livelihood over the years, into a global household name.
“My intense desire for this great event is literally beyond just breaking a record; it’s about sharing my journey from humble beginnings to where I am today.

“For five sleepless days and nights, I will be dedicating myself to resilience, endurance, and hard work with the utmost goal of raising a sum of money and supporting in my little way the educational challenges faced by many children within my locality through my profound NGO. As an orphan at a very young age, my desire for education was vast; even though there was no one to aid me, I’ve persistently pushed my way through, and now I’ve taken it upon myself to aid as many children as possible to reach their full potential.”
