The Secretary to Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has officially registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress.
Recall that he had resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party on Monday morning, but did not say what his next political party is.
PUNCH Online reports that in a letter titled ‘Resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party,’ Anabraba indicated that the decision to leave the PDP is personal.
He further appreciated the political leverage gained from the party during the period of his membership, and he wished the party well in the future.
However, a statement by the Head, Information and Public Relations Unit, Office of the Secretary to the State Government,
Juliana Masi, on Monday evening and sent to newsmen said her principal has now registered as an APC member.
The statement reads, “Dr Anabraba registered his membership on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Ward 1, Unit 1, Bob-Manuel’s Compound, Abonnema, Akuku Toru LGA of the State.
“The SSG said the registration formally confirms his identity as a party member and enables him to fully participate in all APC activities, and most importantly to support His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, in his Rivers First mission and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.”
She quoted the SSG as saying that Rivers State and the Federal Government’s synergy is bound to produce greater benefits for the good of the people.
