Abuja (Precise Post) – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk had on Wednesday and Thursday flagged off the Special Cash Grant for Rural Women programme in Katsina and Kebbi states.

The Minister who disclosed this on Sunday in a statement released via her twitter handle account, said the programme is designed to provide a one-off grant to some of the poorest and most vulnerable women in rural Nigeria.

“Cash grants are to be disbursed to over 150,000 poor rural women across the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT, the Minister said.
According to her, “The grant is expected to increase access to financial capital required for economic activities.

“A total number of 6,800 beneficiaries are to benefit from the cash grant in Katsina State while 4,200 beneficiaries are to benefit from the cash grant in Kebbi State.
They include rural women with Disabilities”.

Farouk who also visited Katsina state, paid a courtesy call on HRH, the Emir of Daura, Dr. Umar Farouq Umar after flagging off the programme and received his royal blessings.
