The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Peter Obi has met with Nigerians in diaspora in Germany yesterday.
Below are highlights of his speech delivered to Nigerians during the constructive engagement town hall meeting:

“We will have zero tolerance for corruption, and will cut the cost of governance.
“Africa will remain the centrepiece of our foreign policy. We wil improve Nigeria’s diplomatic sphere of influence via peacekeeping, trade and investment initiatives.

“We will move our country robustly from consumption to production, and especially with strong support from exportation of Nigerian manufactured goods and commodities.
“We will aggressively pursue human capital development in the education and health sectors with a view of meeting global funding targets and best practices.

“We wil pursue intangible assets of good governance, security of lives and properties through an aggressive increase in personnel and equipment and inclusive training of operatives in our security agencies.
“We will continue to engage the Nigerian Diaspora in ways that is mutually beneficial. By 2027 election, Nigerian Diaspora must have a voice via absentee ballots.

Precise Post recalls that while departing Nigeria, Obi had announced that his present outing will take him to Germany, Italy, Canada and the U.S.A. Adding that he holds Nigerians in Diaspora in very high esteem; and that they represent the core of our human development capital and contribute immensely to nation building via remittances and technical knowledge transfer.
