Abuja (Precise Post) – Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North senatorial district at the National Assembly, has called on students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), to embrace the art of leadership in order to shape a brighter future for the nation.
Senator Ipinsagba made the remarks on Wednesday during a courtesy visit from the FUTA Students Representative Council (SRC), led by its Speaker, Comrade Daniel Adewale, to his office. The SRC members were in Abuja to witness proceedings at the National Assembly, using the opportunity to meet with the respected senator.
While addressing the students, Senator Ipinsagba emphasized the importance of learning effective leadership skills early. “You are here to witness the Senate proceedings. This is a learning process. You are the leaders of tomorrow, and you need to get it right from the beginning. By the time you rise to positions of authority, you must have a clear understanding of leadership,” he said.
The senator encouraged the students to focus on unity and self-improvement, advising them to avoid divisive activities as they work toward becoming effective leaders in the future.
In his remarks, Comrade Daniel Adewale explained that the purpose of the visit was to enhance their understanding of the legislative process. “We came to observe the plenary session of the Nigerian Senate and gain insight into the legislative process, such as how bills are passed,” Adewale said.
The students left with a better appreciation of the workings of the National Assembly and the vital role they play in shaping legislation.
