ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, has firmly denied rumors suggesting his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing such reports as “mischievous” and baseless.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to Precise Post on Subday, Senator Yar’Adua reaffirmed his “unwavering commitment and support” for the APC and called on the media to disregard any speculative headlines implying otherwise.
“It’s essential to clarify that not all individuals sharing the Yar’Adua surname imply a political association with me,” he stated, distancing himself from assumptions based on family ties.
The Katsina lawmaker expressed concern over what he described as deliberate misinformation by certain media outlets, asserting that such insinuations serve no constructive purpose.
“As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army and the Northern Senators Forum, I remain committed to working closely with the Senate leadership to push legislative reforms that complement the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR,” he added.
Yar’Adua praised President Tinubu’s administration for what he called “concerted efforts” over the past two years to increase funding for states and local governments, invest in infrastructure, particularly agriculture and road development as well as enhance national security through mass recruitment into security agencies.
He emphasized the importance of political unity in supporting the APC-led government’s reforms, stating, “We must join hands with Mr President to make this administration succeed and ensure the common man feels the impact.”
Senator Yar’Adua therefore reiterating his dedication to the APC’s goals and pledged to work with party leaders at all levels to promote national unity, progress, and prosperity.
