ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, where both leaders discussed regional peace, bilateral cooperation, and economic partnership.
Describing the meeting as both an honour and a pleasure, Sharif who took to his X handle to disclose this on Wednesday, conveyed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s “patience and restraint” under the Crown Prince’s leadership during a period of heightened regional challenges.
During the talks, Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s recent diplomatic efforts, including its role in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as hosting historic peace discussions in Islamabad. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its efforts to encourage dialogue between Washington and Tehran in pursuit of lasting peace and stability in the region.
The Pakistani premier also thanked the Saudi leadership for its continued support of Pakistan’s peace initiatives, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in addressing regional tensions.
In addition to security and diplomacy, the discussions covered economic cooperation and longstanding defence ties. Sharif expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s consistent backing of Pakistan’s economic stability and underscored the “unique defence and security relationship” between the two nations.
