Abuja (Precise Post) – The federal lawmaker that represented Kaduna Central at the 8th senate, Senator Shehu Sani has bemoaned the auctioning of forfeited properties at give away price while Ministries, Agencies and Departments (MDAs) operate without.
In his words: “Sixty years after independence and three decades since the relocation from Lagos to Abuja, many federal Government Departments and agencies are still renting office spaces at exorbitant rates as their Headquarters; yet, forfeited properties were auctioned instead of given to them.
Shehu Sani who listed few ministries that are affected said Federal Ministry of Agric is squatting in FCDA premises, Debt Management Office is renting, NDE is squatting, Disapora Commission is floating without an office and yet forfeited properties were auctioned at giveaway prices.
Precise Post recalls that this outburst may not be unconnected with the recent revelation that the embattled Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu sold forfeited properties to his friends and associates at give away price and others real estates seized by his predecessors left to dilapidate without maintenance.
Shehu Sani who took to his twitter handle @ShehuSani to register his displeasure tweeted thus:
