ABUJA (PRECISE POST) — Right activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has issued a bold call to action, challenging political and traditional leaders from Nigeria’s Southeast and all Nigerians of conscience, to join him in a peaceful mass march to Aso Rock Villa to demand the immediate release of detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
In a strongly worded statement released on his X handle on Monday, Sowore declared he is willing to set aside personal and political differences for the cause, urging that the time for rhetoric is over and that real action must begin now.
“I will set aside my differences with some politicians for one cause,” he said. “The time for action is NOW. Let’s march to Aso Rock Villa.”
Sowore specifically called out notable Southeastern figures, namely; Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo (@CCSoludo), Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, daring them to move beyond public statements and physically join the protest.
“No more empty noise,” Sowore declared. “Let Soludo, Abaribe, Otti, Peter Obi, and all others who claim to care step up and join us in person.”
He emphasized that the march would be peaceful, legal, and highly visible, aimed at putting pressure on the Nigerian government to end what he described as the persecution of Nnamdi Kanu.
The call has sparked heated debate online and could escalate into a major political moment if the challenged leaders respond or join the movement.
Sowore ended his rallying cry with the hashtag: #FreeNnamdiKanuNow.
Precise Post recalls that this is coming barely twenty-four hours after Peter Obi took to his X handle and berated the government of Lagos state for demolishing ASPAMDA market without notice.
